Program Highlights

Welcoming Wellness (launched Summer 2024)

A self-care community program designed to enhance the overall health and well-being of seniors, youth, and families in Montreal’s English-speaking Black community. Activities included therapeutic workshops (journaling, art) and group outings (e.g., exhibitions and community events) to encourage meaningful connection.

Music Therapy (2023–2024)

A series of music therapy workshops led by a professional therapist to foster mental wellness and community connection among seniors and youth. Sessions explored themes like stigma, stereotypes, and community healing through shared musical experiences.

Drama Therapy (2021)

A 5-week drama therapy group for seniors from the Black community of Côte-des-Neiges, focused on reducing isolation and building empowerment through creative tools such as improvisation, movement, storytelling, and group discussion.

Y-Mind Anxiety Support Group (May 2024)

A 7-week anxiety support group offered in partnership with the YMCA—an early intervention program supporting youth ages 18–35 with evidence-based tools to manage stress and anxiety and improve well-being.
