The Black Community Resource Centre (BCRC) is a Montreal-based organization that strengthens community capacity by supporting youth, families, and community organizations. Through research, partnerships, and community-driven initiatives, we help create opportunities, build leadership, and connect people to the resources they need to thrive.

BCRC works at the intersection of community support, education, research, and collaboration. Our role is to bring people and organizations together, strengthen local capacity, and develop practical responses to the needs and aspirations of Montreal’s English-speaking Black community.

Mission

The Black Community Resource Centre is a growing resource-based organization that strengthens community capacity by providing professional & socio-educational support to individuals & organizations in need. It is committed to leading Quebec’s English-speaking Black Community & other marginalized groups to achieve their full potential & to flourish.

Our Vision

The Black Community Resource Centre’s vision is to be a leader and advocate for Quebec’s English-speaking Black community (ESBC). We use a holistic and inclusive approach to help the ESBC and other marginalized groups to achieve their full potential and to flourish in our society.

Our Mandate

The Black Community Resource Centre provides and facilitates professional support services and innovative community development programs to individuals, communities, para-public and public organizations employing a broad, multi-sectorial approach.

What We Do

BCRC develops programs and initiatives that help individuals build skills, access opportunities, and contribute to stronger communities.

Youth Development

We support leadership, education, mentorship, and career readiness for youth and young adults.

Family & Community Support

We connect families and individuals with culturally relevant resources, information, and referrals.

Research & Knowledge Sharing

We develop and share research that helps communities, partners, and decision-makers better understand local realities.

Partnerships & Capacity Building

We work with schools, organizations, and institutions to strengthen collaboration and expand community impact.

Our approach is holistic, collaborative, and community-centered. We believe lasting progress happens when social, educational, cultural, and economic realities are addressed together. That is why BCRC emphasizes partnership-building, prevention, empowerment, and inclusive support for both individuals and organizations.
